Meet Dr. Barnes of Seattle Dental Associates

I love Seattle. I was born here and raised my family here as well. When it came time to attend school, I could imagine nothing less than attending the University of Washington. I earned my bachelors and decided to attend the UW School of Dentistry. That is what started my career in cosmetic dentistry.

I have been in private practice since 1973 and am an active member of the Seattle-King County Dental Society as well as the Dental Alumni Association of the University of Washington. I have been honored as the Distinguished Alumnus by the University of Washington Dental Alumni Association, as well as selected for Fellowship in the three Dental Honorary Groups: Pierre Fauchard Academy, American College of Dentists, and the International College of Dentists. I am the Vice-President of the Washington State Dental Association and the Vice Regent for District 11 (Northwest) for the International College of Dentists and have chaired the Dean Ernest M. Jones lectureship for thirty-two years. I am a certified Invisalign® dentist and a member of an Invisalign Study Club.

I have attended numerous postgraduate courses on aesthetic dentistry, restorative dentistry and practice, and team development with a mission, teaching several of these courses. I have completed several courses at the L.D. Pankey Institute for postgraduate education. I have been married to my wife, Mary Ann, since 1967, and we have four grown and successful children.
